In the mesh I build, the struggle lies,
Linear, quadratic – the options rise.
The CAD’s a mess, with gaps so wide,
A tangled model, no place to hide.
Boundary conditions, vague at best,
Loads undefined, the solver stressed.
Oh FEM, my battle cry,
In a sea of data, I wonder why.
Convergence fails, the stress won’t clear,
Finite elements – my engineer’s tear.
Material data? Missing or wrong,
Isotropic, anisotropic – it’s all a song.
“Refine the mesh,” the client demands,
But they don’t grasp the time it commands.
Contact pairs with friction and slide,
Yet the solver halts, no path to guide.
Oh FEM, my battle cry,
In a sea of data, I wonder why.
Convergence fails, the stress won’t clear,
Finite elements – my engineer’s tear.
Iterations run, the CPU burns,
Nonlinear problems, the memory churns.
The client asks for results today,
But the model’s complex, the answers delay.
At last, with tweaks, the solver agrees,
A triumph in stress, though it brought me to my knees.
Oh FEM, my battle cry,
In a sea of data, I wonder why.
Convergence fails, the stress won’t clear,
Finite elements – my engineer’s tear.
